October Blog Post
Over the course of the month we worked a lot with modified contour. This whole unit I was developing skills. I really struggled, it was difficult for me to look away from what I drawing but I learned and grew as an artist! I also took a risk with the background of my final piece. It was originally white but then I wanted to make it black and have the colors stand out. Ultimately I wish I did something different with the background. Maybe black acrylic? I'll take another look at the piece and decide if I want to keep working on it or change it. I also included the critiques that my classmates gave me. They helped give me direction! Over all October was really fun and I'm excited to keep growing as an artist.
September Blog Post
This month we have been working on drawing from real life. I developed skills while drawing from real objects. This was not something that I was comfortable and confident with before but now I am feeling better and am excited to practice more! Throughout this unit I really tried to make the backgrounds as important as the foreground. I took a risk with the oil pastels because I wasn't quite sure how it would turn out and haven't worked with that type of medium since art 1. However I really liked how it came out and its my favorite one from the gallery! I'm really excited to start the year and see what Art 3 brings!
