Spooky Photos!
This week we have been trying to take some spooky photos to get us in the Halloween mood! We started off with playing with shadows using the sheet. We found that the further away the object moved from the sheet made it creepier and more ominous. After that we moved to taking fun pictures with masks. We got creative and told people to stand in different places to try and create a creepy mood! After that we turned to photoshop. In photoshop I made the levitation picture! It turned out really cool and it was fun to learn. I also made the picture of Sean red! It definitely makes it creepier! Overall I had a lot of fuyn with the spooky photos!
Photoshop
Over the past two weeks we have been working with photoshop! We started off easy with learning layers. We created the burger using layers and started to learn about color and how photo shop works. Next we tried color splash. We experimented with how different pictures with different objects black and white would make someone feel. I made two different color splashes using the same picture to compare them! I really enjoyed learning how to use photoshop, and am excited to continue working with it!
Elements & Principles
Favorite Instagrammers & Genres
One of my favorite genres is photography is landscape, that can be seen in the bottom two instagram pages. I love how every landscape is unique! Another genre I really like is food! Emily Riley's instagram account is full of food photos and I love them! It's so cool to see her transform everyday objects such as food into captivating pictures. I also really like photo journalism which is one of the styles Adriana does. I love keeping up with her and her photos! Another genre I really like is candid. I really like the pictures that don't look forced.
My favorite picture all around was the selfie that was taken at the 2014 Oscars. Ellen tweeted this photo seconds after it was taken and it was retweeted over 300 million times, more than any other photo in history. The image that I believe changed the world was Falling Man. This was a photo taken on 9/11 by Richard Drew. it captures one man's distinct escape from the collapsing buildings. The image that I believe had the best composition is called 99 cent and is by Andreas Gurksy. It is a picture of a supermarket but the colors and way that everything is oriented turns it into the amazing photo it is.
Burning House Project
If my house was burning I would save my dog, and important things that can not be replaced such as my passport, personal pictures, phone, computer, and glasses. I also decided to save my keys, wallet, and favorite pair of shoes. When arranging my photo I tried to choose an interesting background and tried to make the negative space still be appealing to the eye. I used my phone camera to take the picture and uploaded it through email.
