This past month has been so much fun! We have done tie dye, and started painting shoes! With these shoes I have created original art in that I came up with my design and color scheme by myself! The whole creative process with the shoes was so much fun! We definitely went through some learning curves, in getting the hang of how the paint works on the shoe but once we did we have been having so much fun expressing ourselves through these shoes! I also took a risk in the shoes with the design, I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out but I ended up really liking it!
Throughout the course of this year and last year I have really gotten to know and learn how to express all of the artistic behaviors. My favorite unit this year was painting the shoes! It was something I had never done before and it was so cool to try! My least favorite unit was the portrait. Portrait's have a learning curve to them and I have definitely not learned it yet so the unit was overall really frustrating for me. Even though this was my least favorite unit, I think I grew the most from it. Being required to keep trying, and keep pushing I was forced to keep practicing portraits and ultimately learned a lot. I know this sounds cheesy, but I honestly wouldn't change any aspect of this class! I loved it. An aspect that I really liked and would keep is the freedom that this class gives you to practice whichever art skill you want. The piece of artwork that I am most proud of this year was an acrylic mandala painting, I worked really hard and spent a while sketching it all out before painting and it really payed off.
